Peter P. Weisz is a Croatian-Israeli citizen, a fine artist, and the president of the World Art Games. He is a world travaller and worked in the past time as a diplomat. More then last two years he works on his idea – organisation of 1st World Art Games in Croatia. We wanted know a bit more about mr. Weisz in person and about the World Art Games… Here our interview. Please for attention.

Franjević:
Might we know please something about your profession, business? Tell us if You
like a few most important points from Your biography.

Peter P. Weisz:
In 60-this I studied in Paris on Art Academy (Ecole Nationale Superiore des Beaux Arts ). Most of my life I was free artist, painter. Exhibited in more than 20 different countries, had more than 100 exhibitions all around the world.
About 10 years I was active in tourism. I was there tourist Agency branch manager, operation manager, regional manager, and finally I worked in Croatian National Tourist Board on promotion of Croatian tourism at general.
As Israeli citizen to, I am a member of Israeli Artist Association, and was from 1994 till 1997 a director of the first Israeli office in Zagreb, building diplomatic, cultural and business relationship between Croatia and Israel.

Franjević:
In Your life until now You travailed lot, met very much interesting and well known ladies and gents from all over the world… You’ve got rich experiences… Please tell us a little bit about all this together. About travailing, countries You visited, people You met… Thanks.

Peter P. Weisz:
As Artists I met people from Art and cultural Ambience, as manager in tourism I met people from this branch, and as director of Israeli office in Zagreb met many diplomats, politicians, State presidents, ministers. I am afraid that mentioning some I will forget many others.

Franjević:
As I know, You and your small team work already a pretty long time hard on an great idea! Be so nice and tell what is it exactly, in what did you spent more then last two years? What was everything done in this case and what is to do in next time?

Peter P. Weisz:
We are preparing a big cultural project named World Art Games. Information about it is possible to find on our web:

Organization is like FIFA or Olympic Organization. In every Country we try to register and establish our WAG National Committee-who will be the selector
of Art National Team- In cooperation with theirs governments, private institutions, foundations will
send chosen Artist from all kind of creative, artistic disciplines on two weeks in Croatia on the Games. This will be occasion on one place to present the contemporary art achievements of each State to
others. Idea is to interconnect and network artists from all creative disciplines to showcase the latest
achivments.The event will be of permanent character, and will traditionally held every other year.
So it’s a global promotion of art and culture, and development of ideas of peace and tolerance.
Before the Games (first will be in Croatian May 2013, then 2015, 2017… other Countries) we had
organized in two years work more then 40 exhibitions, few musics concerts, seminars, art colonies, book presentation, presentation of national culture (Norwegian week in Croatia, Hungarian week, Macedonian…)

Franjević:
Your idea btw. this international art and culture event on which You do work is a realy big and monumental. I could imagine, for all this you need to dance and balance very fine between economy, politic and art and culture resourses… and I think in Croatia is at the moment not better then in most countries around… because of finanical crises, unlucky social movements and so on… so I ask myself, how is realistic to realize all idea You started to work on? Do You need maybe some help from abroud? If yes, what this help and assistance should
be?

Peter P. Weisz:
The idea will be realized, because today we have our National Committees established in more than 50 States, on all continents. By our charter each State have to cover for theirs Art National Team the travel expenses in total, plus 75 % of costs in hotels ( accommodation & food). Depend of theirs budget is if they will present theirs Country with 2 or 200 Artists from different art disciplines. The rest of 25 % costs in hotels will be covered by local Authorities, sponsors etc.
The problem is to cover the costs of Head office. It’s a huge project with many different fields, lot
of communication – with our NC in more than 50 different Countries, organizing every month some
cultural event ( most of time international one ). We need now more professional people to do their
work in organization, and for theirs monthly salaries we need funds. Till now most of the thing was financed by our self and on voluntary work.
